The Himalayan Mountain range located in Asia between the Indian subcontinent and Tibetan Plateau is growing continuously at the rate of 5 mm per year due to the constant collision of India into southern Asia. Its highest peak, Mount Everest is Earth's highest mountain above sea level with the current elevation of 29,029 feet. On the other hand, The Appalachian Mountain, once as tall as the Rocky Mountains, is regularly shrinking due to constant rainwater erosion and its highest peak, Mount Mitchell, only remains 6,684 feet high.
